Leos were invited to apply for the Lion Foo Hon Lim Top Leo Academic Award in February and by Mac all the applications were received.
After processing them, 15 Leos with 10A’s were selected to receive the awards.
With Movement Control Order (MCO) in place, LCIH contacted the Leos by email to see whether they would accept the award. All confirmed.
Thereafter individual certificates were prepared and emailed to the successful Leos.
All they needed to do was to download the certificate and thereafter take a photo of them holding the certificate.
Once that was done, they were all requested to forward their bank details and LCIH banked in the cash award on 4th June, 2020 to them.
15? But that only 14 faces? Congratulations. I think the post give us an idea on how to conduct an event like this during lockdown. Stay safe everyone.
ReplyDeleteYes Iniki, you are right. One of the recipient did not respond with the photo and bank details. LCIH has reminded her and many thanks.
DeleteWow the sequence of event is also interesting .
ReplyDeleteCongratulations you all.
Thank you very much Liyana. That was the idea.
DeleteI think Admin is telling us a step by step guidance. Thank you and congratulations.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what 10A means? How many subjects are they taking?
You are right Vivian and many thanks. The students sit for ten (10) subjects and they obtain all A’s for the subjects. Some A+, some A and others A-.
DeleteCongratulations!!! To Leo for achieving excellent results and to Lions to organise such an event.
ReplyDelete10A means taking 10 subjects? Wow that much? What is compulsory subjects for Malaysian?
Thank you very much Meave. It is. Compulsory subjects are Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics, History and Pendidikan Islam/Moral.
DeleteRelax Admin, im not in the moo6to investigate yet. Maybe later. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI think there are 5 compulsory subject if im not mistaken or is it an old story? Haha
Congratulations to all of you. That 1st boy on the 2nd line took really awesome picture.
It’s still five (5) K and many thanks. You are right as regards to the 1st boy on the 2nd line. LCIH aims to give him a further cash incentive.
DeleteCongratulations. Thats a detail explanation. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Roraine Y.
DeleteWow 10As. I only took 9 subjects and its hell. Haha
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Thats Leos with brain. I am agree that extra incentive should be given to the boy in blue.
Thanks Leo Isaac and you are right.
DeleteThats a lot of subjects. If me, im sure i will be collapse. Hihi. How many years they have to study before taking this exam? What is Pendidikan Islam/moral?
ReplyDeleteTwo years A. Pendidikan Islam is a subject on the Islamic religion taken by Muslim students whereas Moral is for non-Muslims. It teaches about what is proper behaviour and what is not.
DeleteIts already 15 pictures. All look happy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. That is so many subjects for one exam for me.
I upvote your idea Admin. That boy should get bonus incentive. He really took it to the next level.
Thanks a lot J and LCIH would give an additional incentive.
DeleteCongratulations. Wait, there is no more pendidikan sivik? I thought its a compulsory subject too? And also english for science and technology? I remember taking EST subject on my 2005 SPM. Wow how time flies.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely has Fara Alina. We too need to ask around before we confirm.
DeleteWhat exam it is? What's grade?
ReplyDeleteIm sure its different for each country right? How old are them when taking it?
Congratulations.
Btw its a great example there by LCIH. Really answer lot of my questions when i first saw the picture. Hihi
Yes it is different Diana D.
DeleteThis exam is equivalent to O level examination if you follow the British education system. The students are mostly 17 and many thanks.
I did Google a bit. It said on fifth form? But im not sure their age. By the way i think the explanation could be save as a standard operation procedure (sop) for event like this. Hehe. We use robot in some ceremony here too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and good luck for your future!
Congratulations LCIH too.
Well done Iniki, it is Fifth Form. Age is 17.
DeleteGlad you like the SOP which was planned by TSK. Thank you for your best wishes.
Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect guidance for event like this.
I have a question, cant you just take those 5 compulsory subject? Why need to take 10?
Thanks Elsa. Not in government schools in Malaysia. Privately you can take 6 or 7 but because all these these subjects are taught in school, you have to take them.
DeleteThe elective subjects is the one that will determine what course you can take for your higher education level. If you take science stream there is biology, chemistry (the nightmare) and physics (the crazy) also additional math (the scariest subject). There is also additional science. There is other subjects i think more than 30 subjects available but im not sure if every school have it. I also dont know why some school have certain subject and others dont, maybe Admin can answer this?
ReplyDeleteNever heard the EST subject and civic too. Is that new Admin?
Oh mai K, you seem to know more than us. As regards to your very difficult question, none of us know the answer. We need to do some research.
DeleteCongratulations. I heard Malaysian exam test in school for accounting paper also got same standard as CAT professional paper?
ReplyDeleteThanks Puteri Miran, you can join K's club. Again we don't know. Need to do research. Hehe.
DeleteAccording to my friend who we always call her secret wikipedia because she always have answer for everything but wouldn't share it if we didnt ask her direct. Its true that the accounting paper is equivalent to ACCA paper 1, means they can skip 1st paper in ACCA exam and 3 paper in CAT. Wow thats new. And everyone know how difficult ACCA and CAT is.
ReplyDeleteCivics & nationality is a subject but not include in any test.
Wow i just know that there is no more PMR. WOW
Thank you K and your wikipedia friend for answering your question and that of Puteri Miran.
DeleteAmazing SOP. Congratulations to Leos and also to LCIH. LCIH can just dorget about it, but still they deliver. I salute you guys.
ReplyDeleteTSK Idea? Wow, like we have said many time before, he not just look like a guy with brain, he is the brain!
Wow what a friend K. How many years you actually live there?
Thank you very much Jewel for your kind words.
DeleteHaha i also have a friend who is called wikipedia but always keep it to herself except if we ask directly. And if we talk about wrong fact, her eyes always look like she is judging us silently *sigh* i think we all have that type of person in every group. Haha
ReplyDeleteIts seem like Malaysian student really really have to work hard for their exam. Its a start of their future. In My country we are more relax and doesn't always depend on result, but on personality behaviour.
We follow the British system Suzanne which has been modified to suite our country's current needs.
DeleteEvery country is different but they are shaping the students according to the need. Like in my country education is mostly about technology because we are heading to that. I think every country want the best for their future.
ReplyDeleteRemember to still have fun in study too.
I wish i have wikipedia type of friend to6. Some of us really ignorant about things around us (i.e. i dont even know my transport minister name.. haha)
You are right Meave. Every country has its own system.
DeleteP/S - why don't you ask K to introduce you to his wikipedia friend?
Its a yearly event isnt it? Congratulations and this year its unique.
ReplyDeleteYes it is Rebecca. The donor promised for 5 years. This year is the 5th year. And many thanks.
DeleteOh cannot Admin. I cant share her, she got toooo many protection. I even got a feeling she know i was writing about her here. She have a habit wouldnt denied or said yes directly. But we always know she have a b&w answer for everything. Haha
ReplyDeleteWith covid around i heard that SPM this year will be postpone? In here, education system is still a bit chaos.
Noted on your wikipedia friend K.
DeleteYes in Malaysia it is still in the planning stage.
Congratulations. Good luck for your future.
ReplyDeleteAre we seeing future Lions there? Hope so.
K, you seem to know a lot about your friends.
Thanks B. Same too here.
DeleteHaha B, there is no secret between all of us. They call me box boy, all of my friends got a nickname. My wikipedia friend also known as soapbomb because she successfully maked bomb from soap during chemistry class. Haha
ReplyDeleteBy the way, how is everyone in LCIH?
We are all fine K.
DeleteHope you are getting stronger.
Haha that must be fun.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all. Hopefully there is a future Lions there. Dont stop at Leos.
Thanks and noted KR.
DeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteI heard many sector is opening in Malaysia?
Well done, just take precautions wherever you could. Dont let things happen in S. Korea happen in Malaysia.
Thanks Zara and we shall try to be as cautious as we can.
DeleteOnly 5 years? After this?
ReplyDeleteThis should continue. It can motivate Leos.
The sponsor promised for 5 years Cally. Any extension will depend on the sponsor. Basically it is out of our hands.
DeleteOhh I sincerely hope that LCIH will continue this. I hope that the sponsor will keep on sponsoring this award. Good things shall continue
ReplyDeleteWe hope so too Melissa.
DeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteHopefully a good deed like this shall continue. Make it a legacy.
Thanks Wai K. We hope the sponsor continues too.
DeleteI have questions. Why is the award is named like that? Who is Lion Foo Hon Lim?
ReplyDeleteLion Foo Hon Lim is the late son of PDG Dato’ Dr. Foo Wan Kien a senior member of the club. Dato’ Dr. Foo has agreed to carry out this project for five (5) years. As regards to it continuing, its up to Dato’ Dr. Foo.
DeleteOh dear I missed this posts.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations you all.
Good questions Meave, I also wondering about the same.
Thanks a lot Zara. The answer to your question is above.
DeleteHe most be a lovely son that his father decided to have an award to be name after him. This should be a legacy.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right KR. We hope so too.
DeleteBased on the story. I am agree with KR. This should be legacy. LCIH signature projects.
ReplyDeleteWe too hope so A.
DeleteCongratulations may the next journey is a success for all of you.
